1. What This Website Is

This private reference site is independent of every government office. It does not keep official criminal records, retrieve files, conduct official checks, or submit documents for a visitor.

Its role is to identify Edwards County custodians such as the Circuit Clerk, sheriff, Illinois State Police Bureau of Identification, and Illinois Sex Offender Registry, while also presenting third-party tools that may support personal research.

2. Rules for Using This Site

You agree that you will not:

• Break any federal, state, or local law while using this site
• Use information you find here to stalk, harass, or threaten anyone
• Base hiring, housing, lending, or insurance decisions on content from this site
• Try to break into our systems or gain access you are not supposed to have
• Run bots, scrapers, or automated tools against our pages
• Do anything that slows the site down or blocks other people from using it

3. No Harassment, Stalking, or Discrimination

Using information from this site, or from any tool linked here, to harass, stalk, intimidate, threaten, or discriminate against any person is prohibited and may be a crime. This applies with special force to sex offender registry information: Illinois law restricts how Illinois Sex Offender Registry data may be used, and misusing registry information against a listed person can carry criminal penalties. Registry data exists for public safety awareness, not for vigilante action, employment blacklisting, or housing discrimination.

4. We Are Not a Consumer Reporting Agency

We are not a consumer reporting agency under the FCRA. We do not generate background checks, credit reports, or consumer reports of any kind. Neither we nor our advertising partners provide services built for screening job applicants, reviewing rental applications, calculating insurance rates, or judging creditworthiness. You agree not to use data from this site or any linked tool to:

• Decide whether to hire or fire someone
• Screen potential renters or housing applicants
• Judge creditworthiness or set insurance premiums
• Determine who qualifies for licenses, permits, or government programs
• Do anything else that falls under FCRA rules

If you need a background check for any of those purposes, order an official check through the Illinois State Police Bureau of Identification or an FCRA-compliant screening company.

Site content is not legal advice. Only a licensed Illinois lawyer can advise how a charge, conviction, warrant, sealing rule, or expungement law affects a particular situation.

Everything on this site is provided "as is." We do not guarantee that:

Criminal records change all the time - charges are filed, dismissed, sealed, and expunged. We try to keep up, but gaps are unavoidable. Nothing on this site should be treated as an official statement from a court, sheriff, or government agency.
